Angels Camp, Aug. 17, 2015 – Market Forty-Nine Ventures, Inc. opened late October 2014 with high expectations to help revitalize the downtown historic district in the Angels Camp Mercantile Building.
August 5, 2015 the building became infested with fleas stemming from feral & wild animals that reside outside the back area of the building. The fleas then quickly infested the interior of the building. This being an immediate public safety issue; forced Market49 to close to eradicate the problem. “After 3 weeks and several different forms of treatment, the fleas are still inside the building. Progress was slow; we’ve had our pest control service out on emergency calls several times. Nothing seemed to work. We then added Food-Safe Diatomaceous Earth, but the problem is beyond our control” said Tey Cross-Carpenter, one of the corporation’s board members. “We have been able to reduce the population but have failed at total eradication”. The extended closure and unforeseen ability to reopen forced the board members to make a heart breaking decision to close operations.
“First and foremost, we would like to thank our employees for their dedication to Market49. We’ve had the pleasure of making many new friends through our customers, vendors and locals who welcomed Market49 to the community. We will forever be grateful to the employees, customers, vendors, friends and family for their support.” Market Forty-Nine Ventures, Inc. Board of Directors.
Did they ever pay their employees what was owed to them.
No they didn’t pay .a lot of people they were crooks
Thank God for Angel’s downtown feral cats .
We have always had them. They keep all the old buildings rat free. It is the responsibility of the person feeding them to trap ,neuter ,flea spay and release the SPCA will loan you at trap free and you can have them spaded for $25
If their love isn’t worth that you shouldn’t be feeding them in the first place
People today have no sense of responsibility. They just blame people for their problems
