San Andreas, CA….Pending Storm Preparation Activity: With continued inclement weather expected through March 2023 in much of California, the Calaveras County Office of Emergency Services is working with local and state government partners to coordinate any necessary response and provide resources to ensure that residents stay safe.
Calaveras County has Sandbags and Sand Available for Residents at 9 Locations. In preparation of the heavy rain and potential flooding predicted for this week the Calaveras. County Office of Emergency Services and Public Works Department have stocked the following locations with sandbags and sand. Please limit the number of sandbags to 10 per resident and remember to bring your own shovel.
1. Murphys Fire Station, 37 Jones St.
2. Vista Del Lago Cul-de-sac near Valley Springs Dental, 313 Vista Del Lago
3. Mangili Rd. Cul-de-sac at Valley Springs Sports and Fitness, 145 Mangili Rd.
4. Mountain Ranch Community Center Parking lot next to the Public Safety Substation, 7869 Whiskey Slide Rd.
5. Copperopolis Fire Department, 370 Main St.
6. West Point Volunteer Fire Department, 195 Spink Rd.
7. Glencoe Maintenance Yard, 16151 Hwy 26 (Open from 7:00am to 3:30pm)
8. Jenny Lind Yard 11558 Milton Rd. (Open from 7:00am to 3:30pm)
9. San Andreas Rd Yard, 891 Mt Ranch Rd. (Open from 7:00am to 3:30pm)
Sand and sandbags are not available at the Arnold Road Yard due to the operational activities at the road yard. Alternatively, staff will provide sandbags and sand at the Arnold Branch Library (1065 Blagen Road) once trucks are able to safely deliver the supplies.
