Jamestown, CA…On January 18, 2025, at approximately 1930 hours, Sonora Area CHP units were dispatched to a two-vehicle crash on SR-108, west of Rawhide Road, in Jamestown, California. The crash involved a Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) patrol vehicle, a 2018 Ford Explorer driven by 30-year-old TCSO Deputy Andrew Munoz, traveling westbound on SR-108, and a 2003 GMC Yukon driven by 72-year-old Jamestown Resident Jon Olson, entering the roadway from the driveway of The Rawhide Saloon on SR-108.

A preliminary investigation on scene indicates the GMC entered the roadway of SR-108 into the path of the oncoming TCSO patrol vehicle. A collision occurred in the westbound lane of SR-108 where the GMC overturned and came to rest on its right side in the westbound lane of SR-108. The TCSO patrol vehicle continued into the opposing lane of SR-108 (eastbound) and came to rest on the right shoulder of SR-108. Both drivers sustained minor injuries as a result of the collision and were transported to hospitals located in the city of Modesto.

A Driving Under the Influence (DUI) investigation was conducted and as a result Olson was arrested on suspicion for DUI. Both directions of SR-108 were closed for approximately one and a half hours while Sonora Area CHP units investigated the crash scene.
